2021 Carnival Update – Covid-19

Covid-19 Official Statement.

It was with a heavy heart, that due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the government guidelines on large gatherings, we had to make the difficult decision to cancel the 2021 Wrose Carnival.

There were a lot of factors that we had to take into consideration to make the hard decision but here are just a few;

  • The health of both the public and our service providers was paramount. With the carnivals attendance figures growing year-on-year, it would have been impossible to guarantee any safety to the attendees and volunteers.
  • The cost to stage the carnival, unfortunately is at the centre of all our decisions. All of the money that the carnival has to stage itself is raised through fundraising year on year, it would have been the wrong decision to gamble and potentially lose this.

As an overview, we would rather hold fantastic future carnivals than lose everything we have all worked so hard for so far.

All of those involved were individually contacted and notified of the decision we had to make.

Thank you for your understanding of the decision we had to make last year and thank you all for your continued support!

Stay safe, Stay Healthy, Stay Happy.

The Wrose Carnival Committee.
